Dear Tenant,
For your rental you have to present the landlord the certificate of a Tenant insurance. This "rental risks" is an obligation by French law: French Civil Code (article 1732).
Decisions on holiday destinations and apartment rental are often taken a some time in advance. But between the time you book and the actual date, a lot of things may happen preventing you from taking your holidays. In that case your online prepayment to secure the booking, or even the total cost of the rental might not be refunded.
But there is a way to insure yourself! We, at Paris Room Rental, have chosen for ADAR: rented holiday accommodation insurance.
The insurance is calculated on the total amount of the rental. It's about 3,5% of the rental amount and they offer a very easy calculator on their webpage. In case of cancellation, interruption and Personal liability, ADAR will reimburse you for all amounts paid to the landlord and ADAR will also reimburse the landlord the balance payment of your stay. Damages to the apartment during your stay, resulting from fire, explosion, or water damage, are also covered.
We think it's a very good insurance indeed. You are nevertheless free to chose another insurance company, or maybe you already have your own liability insurance extended for holiday rental abroad (in that case please provide us a copy of the insurance attestation).
You can subscribe to the insurance after the rental is confirmed. Once you have completed the subscription, we require a copy of your insurance by email.
Please don't hestitate to contact us at Paris Room Rental if you have any questions or remarks.
